One of the most popular tourist destinations in Brazil is Salvador. There are a lot of attractions and entertainment that Salvador has in store for the tourists. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to this beautiful city that is loaded with plenty of beaches, historical buildings, churches, etc.
Attractions in Salvador
- Sao Francisco Church and Convent
The church is an architectural marvel and it really caught the attention of my eyes and my camera. It is an important landmark in this city and a very popular church. I got to know more about the history of the church from the locals as it has its history etched with Latin America’s slave labor plantation days.
- MAM Museu De Arte Moderna
This is another important place to visit if you want to get a glimpse of modern art. I am interested in art and hence liked all the exhibits there. It had two buildings, one that showcases temporary work and the other for varied modern arts.
This is known as the main postcard of Salvador and is a very popular tourist attraction. It is a very lively place where you get to enjoy attractive looking pastel-colored buildings, a wide range of bars and restaurants to enjoy local food, and plenty of shopping places. It was founded in 1594 by the Portuguese and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Mercado Modelo
If you are looking to take back some memories of Salvador with you, then you should shop at this market place. It is a place where you get to buy shirts, artworks, magnets, scarfs, etc., made by the locals. Everything is on offer at a discounted price.
- Farol Da Barra Beach
It is a very famous beach that offers a great and picturesque view of the ocean. You can get to watch the beautiful sunrise and the wonderful sunset here. With plenty of restaurants and shops on the shore, it is a great place to spend evenings with families.
